PATTERN DESCRIPTION
Fitted midi dress with an open back. It features pieces of the bodice, tied at the neck with a bow. The back of the dress has a cut in the middle seam at the bottom and an invisible zipper.

Satin, silk, and stretchy dress fabrics.

PATTERN PIECES
INTERFACING
Do the front facing (5) and the back facing (6). Interface the edges before sewing in the zipper with tape interfacing. Interface the cut of the lower back (4) with tape interfacing.

SEWING INSTRUCTIONS
DRESS TOP
1. Stitch the darts of the front facing of the bodice (2), beginning from the notch and finishingin the base point of the corner.
2. Make folds on the pieces of the bodice (1) in places where we have notches and pin them.
3. Sew in the front facing (1) of the bodice, facing up the pieces. Serge the neckline and the armholes at 0.9 cm (3/8’’). Press the pieces on the right side, leaving the edge stiches unpressed.
4. Stitch along the waistline.
DRESS BOTTOM
1. Stitch the darts of the lower front of the bodice (2), beginning from the notch and finishing in the base point of the corner. Press the darts to the center front.
2. Press the folded edge to sew the hem.
3. Interface the seam allowances of the lower back (4) to place the zipper. Interface the seam allowances of the cut. Overlock the central seams.
4. Stitch and press the darts to the center of the back. 5. Stitch the middle seam of the lower back, beginning from the zipper notch and finishing at the cut notch. Press the seam allowances.
6. Press the edges of the lower back to sew the hem.
ZIPPER
1. Open the zipper and insert one of the zipper tapes to the prepared lower back, pin the zipper tape and stitch it.
2. Stitch the second zipper tape. Press the zipper.
FRONT FACING
1. Pin the edges and align the notches of the lower front and the lower back, facing up. Stitch the lower pieces together. Overlock and press the seam allowances to the back.
2. After the facings are done, stitch the side seams of the front (5) and back (6). Press the seam allowances.
3. Overlock the lower edge of the facing. Stitch the facing to the zipper allowance. Press it.
4. Pin the bodice to the lower part aligning it to the notches and stitch at 0.9 cm (just under 3/8’’).
5. Place the pieces with the facing right sides together along the waistline and serge it at 1 cm (3/8’’), making corners in the zipper area.
6. Turn the facing inside out and topstitch it, leaving 0.2 cm (1/8’’) from the seam allowance.
7. Overlock the bottom of the dress. Stitch and press the hem’s corners.
8. Topstitch the cut, leaving about 0.5 cm (just under 1/4’’) allowance from the fold.
9. Topstitch the hem of the dress.
10. Give the garment a final press.
